Biography

Dr. Campanile is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Boston University School of Medicine; and his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. During his residency, he was involved as a researcher in the world-renowned Framingham Heart Study, which has greatly contributed to our current understanding of risk factors in the development of cardiovascular disease. In addition, Dr. Campanile has published scientific papers in major cardiology journals that have advanced our understanding of the effect of high blood pressure on heart health.

New Jersey Monthly Magazine named Dr. Campanile as one of the “Top Doctors” in the state for several years. Dr. Campanile acted as on-call physician to former President George H.W. Bush in Kennebunkport, Maine. He was one of the cardiologists at the forefront of placing stents in patients, and served as proctor in educating other cardiologists on placing the original coronary stent in the early 1990s. He now serves as an instructor for Internal Medicine residents at Mountainside Hospital, NJ, as well as for Interventional Cardiology fellows at Lenox Hill Hospital, NY. Dr. Campanile is currently in continuation of his teaching interests at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach.
