Biography
Graduate of University of Caldas School of Medicine, Manizales, Colombia. Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida. Board Certified by the American Board of Interventional Cardiology, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Londoño is Board Certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Adult Echocardiography. Dr. Londoño is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.
Dr. Londoño currently leads several studies at Mount Sinai including the FREEDOM TRIAL (Diabetic Patients with occluded coronary arteries), SAPPHIRE WorldWide Registry (Carotid Stenting), CHOICE TRIAL (Carotid Stenting), HERCULES TRIAL (Renal Stent Trial), SUPERB Trial (SFA stenting) and The MOBILITY Trial (Iliac Stenting).
Areas of specialization include Cardiac (coronary arteries and congenital defects) and Vascular Intervention, such as carotid arteries and lower extremities angioplasty. Dr. Londoño is a leader in Cardiac Catheterization and Intervention through the wrist (Radial Artery), which decreases complications and hospital stay, as well as increases patient comfort.
